Memorial Day, 2013. Something about learning the important life events of my loved ones on Facebook and Twitter is alarming to me. We live in an instant society, why should this be an exception? Tweets and updates about death, car impoundments, and the rest make me even more compelled to check these social media venues even more than I already do. How is that possible? Not to mention those that are not in my life for various reasons, available for inspection on my meeker weaker days, when I'm feeling nostalgic. You can drive yourself crazy looking at all of it, and minding everyone else's business instead of your own. If I don't, will I miss a monumental event? What ever happened to phone calls?
